A colourful cookery school

Opticolour has been working with Two Guys Kitchens to produce decorative wall panels for Newlyns Cookery School in Hook, Hampshire.

Comprising a selection of stunning high-resolution photos printed on glass from around Newlyns, as well as quotes about its produce, services and ethos, the panel stretches along the entire length of the teaching space adding a colourful and inspiring focal point to the room.

The large size of the splashback necessitated three separate panels of glass, and the challenge for Opticolour was in aligning the photographs across all three pieces and ensuring the colours matched exactly. Happily, the end result is fantastic, and we are proud to say that the joins are barely visible.

A similar effect could be achieved using photos printed on glass from our library of food and drink images.

Based in Basingstoke, Two Guys showroom supplies luxury kitchens and kitchen appliances from prestigious names such as Neff, Villeroy & Boch, Blanco, and Omega, with glass splashbacks provided by Opticolour. From sleek contemporary design to classic British style, Two Guys is committed to delivering their clients’ dream space, using the latest in high-tech CAD design to ensure they get it right.

Newlyns is a 500-acre traditional mixed farm with a large farm shop, bright and airy cafe, and a highly respected cookery school, which offers a wide range of courses including “Express Dinner Parties”, “Flavours of Asia”, “Perfect Pastry”, and “Pies, Pâtés and Terrines”. Classes are held in a well appointed kitchen above the farm shop, led by fully trained professional chefs who have worked in top restaurants such as Chelsea’s Bibendum, Launceston Place in Kensington, and the Wykeham Arms in Winchester.
